Notes to use beside the visual guide
The Build workspace shows actual model parts, an exploded connection, highlighted contacts and three short stages for each installation. These notes keep the unresolved site and supplier details together.
Confirm before construction
- Timber and roof: a carpenter or qualified building professional must check spans, grade, bracing, supports, fixing schedule, wind uplift and anchorage. A shown lap or a larger timber label does not prove capacity.
- Floor: select flooring explicitly rated for poultry use. Verify its openings, finished edges, span and fixing method with the supplier and a supported full-size trial. The green hex roll in the model is flexible and sits on timber supports.
- Access: prove two-handed loading, retrieval from every far corner, hatch swing and containment using the actual keeper and largest birds. A frame aperture is not a guarantee of usable handling clearance.
- Finished levels: measure existing ground and finished floor before fixing the lower tier, belt, collection tray or enclosure base. Foundations and slab design remain unresolved.
Match the equipment you buy
Feeder and drinker connections
Fix the timber cleat to the edge-board face; seat the cradle on the cleat; rest the plastic channel on the cradle. Keep fixings out of the feed channel. For water, buy compatible pipes, clips, unions, nipples and cups as a matching system. The small cup reference is 60 mm. The guide intentionally gives no invented drilling, thread or pressure settings.
Water and protected power
Risers and headers follow the front-net and rear-wall sides. One shared high end connection serves the four tier lines, with accessible isolation and flush ends. Separate water and dry electrical sleeves pass through a shared fixed service patch. A qualified electrician must specify the circuit, protection, cable, earthing and wet-area details; the 3D route is a placement concept.
Belt, scraper and removable tray
Ask the belting supplier for the belt material, joining method, minimum drum size, tension and scraper compatibility. A fabricator must prove shaft, bearings, take-ups, tracking, guard details and hand effort on one prototype. Keep the scraper fixed, the short chute aligned and the removable tray inserted before turning. Stop before withdrawing the tray. The demonstration does not promise perfectly clean belts or verified operating force.
Roof and rain covers
Use the actual zinc sheet’s effective cover, lap and fixing details. Hand-roll each small cover around its PVC edge and retain it with the reinforced buckle straps. There is no lifting rope or powered hoist. Wind restraint, rain management and ventilation need a site solution.
Prices are a working budget
Supplier listings, your quotations, derived stock budgets and component allowances appear separately. A rate reference does not establish product suitability. Unresolved quantities remain outside the priced subtotal. Confirm actual dimensions, delivery, fabrication, foundations and local labour before placing an order.
Equipment references
References inform equipment form and the installation discussion. They do not certify this timber house, its clearances, a DIY belt or bird suitability.
